I have had 2 of the Expior model reels for about 5 years. The same features but 11 bearings. They have been through the ringer and still work great. I have not been very sucessful find a spinning rod that I like for them but when I go to the ocean I put these reels on 12 foot surf rods and have yet to give them a real test. And I have caught everything up to a fair sized sand shark on them. Good solid reels for anyone that peferse spinning tackle.

Nice review Smoke.

Guys these are great reels at a great price from bottomdwellerstackel I got two of them for my boys to use when we go catfishing cause they wanted to be able to cast there own rod out but are not able to do so with a baitcaster. These reels cast nice and smooth and will hold up to the test.

I think it's agreat idea for kids ( way to go Smoke ) and they would also work for the occasional novice that wants to go along. But make no mistake these are serious reels that will handle anything that comes their way. I take my two to every tournament I go to. I have complete faith that they will handle a big fish when it matters. And you can lob a big bait a long way with these spinning reels.

I have 3 ABF50's that I use for carp and the occasional catfish. These are really nice reels. I use baitcasters for my serious cattin' but these reels hold a lot of line, are super smooth, and the bait runner is really nice. Landed a 23lb carp on one and it didn't skip a beat!
